Giorgi Bakhbakashvili
Giorgi Bakhbakashvili is a participant in the "Improved Child Protection System in Guria and Kakheti" project. He lives in the village of Vardisubani with his wife, four children, and his mother.
Giorgi traveled to Germany twice as part of an employment promotion project, where he primarily engaged in agricultural work. He noted, "You are nobody in a foreign country, everyone looks at you as a foreigner."
With some experience in farming, Giorgi and his wife completed a small veterinary course in pig farming through the project. They were provided with a sow and twelve piglets.
They began to care for and breed meat pigs, an activity that contributes to the family's future financial security.
Giorgi says, "I realize that this project gives me the opportunity to be with my family and to be strong in my village in my country. Now I know for sure that my children will not be hungry, and as a parent, it is better for me to be here because my children need me today, here and now."
The project is implemented with the financial support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Hermann Gmeiner German Foundation.
